Mr. Chao-Yang Chang

Since the establishment of the DTS Alumni Association, Mr. Chao-Yang Chang has been elected as the president. The main reason is that Mr. Chao-Yang Chang has been enthusiastic about the development of the department and is willing to help DTS young talents on internship and career development. In addition, Mr. Chang was invited to share his experiences for current students several times. Besides his busy work, Mr. Chang also devotes himself to the development of DTS curriculum and provides his valuable experience for the curriculum planning and revision. The DTS has gone through the process of development and Mr. Chang could always provide many good suggestions for reference. Mr. Chang also often sponsors the DTS Student Association events and  DTS development.

Mr. Fu-Kang Hsueh

Mr. Hsueh often generously makes donations to the DTS scholarship programs for DTS students, and his substantive feedback is a role-model of DTS. He also shows his strong support and contributions to the DTS Alumni Association.

2013 Distinguished DTS Alumni Award

Mr. Kuo-Kai Liao

 

Department of Navigation Technology

4-year technical program, ‘00

Pilot,

 

Port of Kaohsiung

Mr. Liao was the youngest pilot in Taiwan, and with his father, Mr. Liao's are the only father-and-son pilots working in port of Kaohsiung. One of his great achievements during his service as the Chief Engineer of the YM HORIZON, he was responsible for transporting the Taiwan Pavilion Expo back to Taiwan after the World Expos.

Mr. Liao also generously makes donation to the DTS.

Dr. Chuan-Yu Chang

Dean of Research & Development/Distinguished Professor

 

National Yunlin University of Science & Technology

  Dr. Chang is a distinguished professor at the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology and also serves as the dean of research and development. Dr. Chang's great invention of the "baby language translation machine" system has won numerous awards and honors. Its database has more than 700,000 infant sounds and is highly influential in Big Data application. Dr. Chang also takes a good care of DTS alumni at work and is willing to help DTS alumni in applying for a faculty position.

Dr. Chang-Hua Lien

National Kaohsiung Marine University

  • Dr. Lien has been appointed as the General Chair of International Conference on Control, Engineering & Information Technology (CEIT’13), June 04-06, 2013.
  • "Special Talents Flexible Salary for Universities/Colleges Not Awarded the Top Universities Programs" Projects, sponsored by the Ministry of Education in 2011, 2012, 2013.
  • "Special Talents for Flexible Salary" Projects, sponsored by the National Science Council (Ministry of Science and Technology) in 2013, 2014.
  • Appointed as the Principal investigator for 2015 Test Database Project for seafarer & Electro-technical officer, sponsored by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
  • Dr. Lien has published more than 105 publications or papers, and most of them are published in EI and SCI journals.

  • In 1996, Mr. Chang was awarded the Maersk Taiwan Distinguished Salesperson Award.
  • In 2000, he served as the export business manager of Maersk Taiwan, Asia, Africa, Middle East, New Zealand and Australia.
  • In 2003, serve as the Sales Manager of Damco Taiwan Branch.
  • In 2006, Senior Manager, Business Development Department, East China, Damco Co.
  • In 2008, Senior Manager of Maersk Taiwan's Export Business Unit.
  • In 2012, he served as Deputy General Manager of Maersk Taiwan's Import Business Department.
  • In 2015, he serves as the general manager of the Mediterranean Shipping Co. Taiwan Branch.
