  • DTS First-year students must take 4 credits on English courses (2 credits for both fall & spring term). Foreign students must take four credits in second foreign language. DTS students with English as their native language, must take second foreign language to meet the requirements.

  • DTS students must comply with one of the following requirements:

1. Take one swimming course during the school year.

2. Participate NTOU swimming capability test, and certified with 50-meter swim.

3. Students with official certifications or proofs of swimming competition.

4. Students with the certificate by doctors/physicians, who cannot participate the swimming activities and the period exceeds the studying years.

Notes:

1. DTS students apply for graduation must pass the TOEIC English test with scores of 600 or above or the following equivalent English tests:

  • The High-Intermediate-level of the General English Proficiency Tests (GEPT).
  • TOEFL ITP test with 475 or above, or TOEFL iBT test with 63 or above.
  • International English Language Tests (IELTS) with 5.0 or above.
  • Foreign Language Proficiency Test (FLPT) with scores 188 or above.
  • The College Student English Proficiency Test (CSEPT) Level II scores 253 or above.

2. About English credits transferring, students should check for details with Institute of Applied English, College of Humanities & Social Science, NTOU.

3. Course or credits of military training or National Defense Education could not be deducted from the minimum graduation credits of DTS.

4. Course selections for each terms, please refer to the regulations & rules of departments respectively.

5. Students of the top 40% of his/her class are allowed to take the Senior Project course selected in the fall term of his/her third year.

6. Students under the exchange program or off-campus internship for one or more semester may waive the Senior Project course.

7. Students fail the Senior Project course must apply for electives for next term.
